OPEN TO WORK
I'm Rhonda Parrott, a Senior Design Operations professional based in Portland, OR. For nearly a decade, I've been building the systems, processes, and infrastructure that allow design organizations to do their best work.
My career has taken me from Mailchimp, where I digitized a physical employee recognition program for 2,000+ global employees, to Pinterest, where I built the operational backbone of the Gestalt Design System and drove 90% adoption across mobile and web surfaces. Most recently, I applied DesignOps principles to build an entire firm from zero at Vantage PDX.
I'm drawn to the messiest, most ambiguous operational problems; e.g. the ones where the answer isn't obvious and the process doesn't exist yet. I specialize in turning those situations into durable systems: automated, documented, and built to scale without me.
Outside of work, I'm an active member and contributor to the DesignOps Assembly community, and I'm currently working toward my PMP and CSM certifications.
🔭
Discovery first
I don't solve problems I haven't fully understood. Every engagement starts with internal discovery through interviews, audits, & journey mapping before any solution is proposed.
⚙️
Systems over patches
I build for the team, not for the moment. Every process I design is documented, repeatable, and optimized for the people who'll use it long after I've moved on.
📊
Outcomes over output
Every initiative I own has defined KPIs, a feedback loop, and a retrospective. I don't call something successful until the numbers say so.
