Vantage PDX is a new firm operating in a high-stakes professional services environment. When I joined as the founding operations lead, there was no infrastructure. No brand, no workflows, no systems, no technical foundation. Everything needed to be built simultaneously, under real business pressure, with real consequences for incompleteness.
A professional services firm can't operate without three things working in parallel: a credible brand, a reliable technical foundation, and efficient internal workflows. None existed. The challenge was architecting all three at once, using systems-thinking to sequence the work and service blueprinting to design the operational core.
I applied every tool in the DesignOps toolkit to a non-design context: service blueprinting for workflow design, design systems thinking for brand consistency, and automation for operational efficiency. This engagement is proof that DesignOps is not a design-industry skill, it's a systems-thinking discipline that applies wherever operational complexity exists.
Technical infrastructure - architected the complete Google Workspace environment, DNS authentication, and legal document governance from scratch
Visual identity & design system - developed a comprehensive brand identity and design system maintained consistently across a custom-built web platform and all physical marketing materials
Service blueprint - mapped and engineered the full inspection-to-report lifecycle, identifying and eliminating every point of administrative friction
Workflow automation - built automated internal and customer-facing workflows from the service blueprint, replacing manual handoffs with structured, trackable processes
Strategic procurement - directed procurement of all physical assets and marketing materials aligned to long-term scaling strategy
Operational blueprint - created a scalable operational foundation that serves as the firm's ongoing infrastructure as it grows
A fully operational, professionally credible firm launched from zero
All administrative friction eliminated from the inspection-to-report lifecycle
Scalable operational blueprint actively in use and expanding with firm growth
Demonstrated universal applicability of DesignOps principles beyond the tech industry
Vantage PDX is the clearest evidence that my DesignOps skills aren't industry-specific, they're systems-thinking skills. Building a firm from zero with service blueprinting and design system principles, under real business pressure, is the highest-stakes version of what I do every day. I don't just talk about operational infrastructure. I've built one.
